About the Editor, Sophia DeSensi

I'm an award-winning author  and editor with an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction, who studied under New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors, such as Maria V Snyder, Priscilla Oliveras, Melissa Marr, Lee McClain and many others. I furthered my education with courses through the Editorial Freelancers Association, former Entangled editor Kate Brauning’s Break Through Writers Boot Camp, and literary agent Cece Lyra’s writing webinars, and literary agent Danielle Chiotti.

I previously worked as an editor at The Parliament House Press. As an editor, my clients went on to become Amazon #1 New Release in Teen & YA Magical Realism, featured as one of the ‘Most Anticipated YA Books of Fall 2021’ by YA.Buzz, appeared in Fae Crate’s September 2021 book of the month subscription box, and receive glowing reviews by Tor.com and Kirkus Reviews. I, also, worked as the marketing manager for Cabbit Crossing Publishing.

I bring both creative insight and industry experience to every project. I specialize in developmental editing, detailed line editing, and query and submission material critiques for fiction writers preparing their work for publication. With a keen eye for story structure and a passion for deepening point of view, I help authors elevate their manuscripts with clarity, emotional resonance, and market awareness. Whether you're polishing a novel or crafting a compelling pitch, I’m here to support your path to publication.

What Our Clients Say

"Sophia is a very strong editor, no matter the genre...Her fundamental understanding of story elements (plot arc, foreshadowing, character development, etc.) help her make picture edits and suggestions. On a micro level, her grammar and line edits clarify sentences and cut unnecessary words to help stick to submission length guidelines. Sophia not only corrects and help improve writing, but she takes the time to celebrate the successes in them as well. It's important to know what isn't working in a story, but also what is. She does that and more."
